She looks at Frank.

Cynthia: What did happen there anyway?

Frank:"Saying you had to marry that slimeball...that "your laws ignore the outside worlds" or some such stuff...But he wouldn't explain. Something about how his fathers fathers fathers fathers fathers fathers etc, was in this thing and he wasn't about to risk breaking that tradition. So...I gave him an ultimatum."

Cynthia: Tradition and legacy. I think he was always disappointed I wasn't born a boy to carry it on directly.

She talks back into the phone.

Cynthia: Raquel, did you catch any of that?

Cynthia: It turns out father's idea of damage control was telling everyone that Sexton and I were off on a missionary trip for the past three years. Frank had this idea to blow it all out of the water I wish to make it perfectly clear to everyone that Sexton is no saint... that I was the one that was wronged here, not him.

She glances over at Frank.

Cynthia: It won't?

Cynthia: What he did is sadly not that unusual in that world... and as long as it was hush-hush it was perfectly fine. Daring to step forward with a dirty little secret and not stay in the nice little role that had been given to me to play was apparently the worse sin.

Cynthia: I'm sure the people Sexton is trying so hard to impress with his perfect little life would be rather interested to see him fall from his pedestal. While I don't know exactly who they are, we're meeting Ben and Moira again tomorrow... Ben seems to know just about everyone, so he'd likely be able to shed some insight on the best way to break the news.
