She acts like she's walking back to the door.

He rushes up behind her and locks his arms firmly around her waist.

She sticks her tongue out playfully.

"Awww.... still pretending you're not totally hot for me eh Sexy Lexi?"

Alexis starts to reply, but is interrupted by the knock on the door.

Alexis: From... Micah?

She glances uneasily at Alex, then slips out of his arms to go to the door. She checks the peephole, and the guy looks legit, so she opens the door a crack.

Alexis: Hi. I'm Alexis.

The guy gets Alexis to sign for the package and then hands her one red rose, a corpse doll in the style of Micah with two swords...one in his back and the other in his heart. The 'joke' part of the gift is a six pack of vanilla coke and a note...which reads simply...

"Just remember Alex...a woman's love...just like her soda, apparently...is fleeting. Hope she doesn't drink you dry. SAINTS FOREVER."

Alexis can't verbally answer. She is staring at the doll, her eyes filling with tears. She just swallows and shakes her head.

Not knowing what to say that could possibly help, Alex simply pulls Alexis into a tight hug.

Both the doll and the six-pack drop from Alexis' grasp with her last shred of self control, and she cries into Alex's chest. One of the cans breaks on impact with the floor, spraying it's contents. Alexis doesn't seem to notice.

Worn out and out of tears, Alexis finally lifts her head, wiping her eyes and sniffling. She looks around, wincing at the doll, then looks guiltily amused at the mess of coke.

Alexis: Get rid of the doll... and that note, please. I'll clean this up.

She looks around for a towel.

Alexis: And... just stay with me, alright?

The phone rings...the caller I.D. reads Micah. They let it go to the answering machine...

Micah over the phone: I take it you all got the gifts. Understand I sent those from the airport on the way to Seattle a week ago...I was, and am still angry...but that was uncalled for. An apology over the phone is meaningless, I know, and if you want one in person, concider it done...but, for now... ahem...

...for what little it means...I'm sorry. I'm sorry if it rings hollow...espcially to Alexis. Alex...I...

He looks at her.... Alexis is covered with spray from the coke.

"Why don't you go get changed into something clean.... and dry.... and more comfortable. And all of this will be gone by the time you get back. OK?"

He sets about cleaning up the mess and disposing of the gifts.

Alexis nods and starts to walk away, pulling at the wet clothes to try and pull them off as she goes. Micah's voice makes her stop and automatically stiffens and stares at the machine. She lets out a breath at what he says though, and looks at Alex.

Alex returns her gaze as he presses delete on the answering machine.

" I think you've felt guilty enough."

He signals for her to resume what she was doing, as he finishes mopping up and disposing of the gifts.
