Meanwhile, out in the parking lot, Colin puts the flask in his jacket and pulls out his phone. With a sigh he dials

The phone picks up on the other end...

Voice: Dr. Jillian De Silva-Edwards' personal line....may I ask who's calling?

Colin is thrown off to hear a voice at first
Colin:"..Uh hi..hi Jillian its...it's Colin. Colin O'Ryan. I hope I didn't catch you at a bad time."

Naomi: I...I have some news. I just talked to Dr. Jordans. You're going to need to take blood pressure medicine and obviously quit drinking....your liver can't handle it anymore. Dr. Jordans is also thinking you might need therapy....but you should be out the day after tommrow.

Jillian: Colin...well, I must say...this is a suprise. How can I help you?

Colin:"I need to talk to you about my father actually..."

Naomi: The problem is, Ashley...is he thinks you might have clinical depression. He thinks that could be the source of your drinking....kind of a coping mechanisim. Not a quack, Ashley...just someone you can really just...release all your problems to in a safe enviornment.

Jillian: Colin....with all due respect...why?

Colin:"Jillian...I know my fathers friendship with yourself and with your husband all but ended years ago. But...well, heres the thing. He recently had a heart attack, was told his liver is shot and he can no longer drink. On top of that his nurse told me that they think he's been clinically depressed for years...
he sighs
All he's talked about is what he did to you, to your family...It's a guilt he's drowned away for years. Now that he can't, he's forced to face it. I know what he did was horrible, and that you likely hate him. But as his son, and the future brother in-law of your own son I ask you to talk to Ashley...and if at all possible, try to get Ewan to be willing to talk to him too. Please."

Naomi: I'll be with you...every step of the way...if you'll have me.

Jillian: Colin....It's sweet that you're trying to get your father's....affairs in order...but...I'm afraid that he's going to have to come to me at least. As far as Ewan goes...I'm sure Alex told you...but, I doubt Ewan will ever let this slide. It may start to heal over time...but some wounds never fully heal...

Man: So tell me Caley, what are you going to do now?

Caley: Contiune to spread the word of the Lord...

Man: That's wonderful. Listen...I'd like to talk to you about Micah St. Clair...he's been on our radar for quite some time...as well as your son Colin.

Caley: I would love my son Colin to come to the faith...but Micah...Micah is evil incarnate.

Man: I know...and I believe the Lord has a mission for you, sister.

Caley: Anything...

Man: We must 'purge' Micah St. Clair...and your son has been chosen as the Light's holy instrament...

Colin:"Look..if my father makes the arrangements to fly out and see you, would you at least let him talk to you? Or even if he calls? And..I know its unlikely Ewan ever will but...I know he is going to try. He has to try to talk to him. If theres anything you can do to...cool down that situation. Its going to be stressful for my dad and...to much stress could lead to complications for his health. Jillian, I wouldn't have called if I didn't believe my father was being sincere. If you knew anything about the relationship me and him have had the past few years, you would know that."

Colin:"Thats fair. You know, I havent seen you since...since I was a kid I think. How have you and Ewan been?"

Theres a certain resentment that Colin has to hide in his voice. He's always felt a jealously towards the Alex and Amanda and their parents "perfect marriage". Especially considering that he witnessed his parents marriage crumble. He didn't hate them. But it still was something that ate at him

Colin:"That's great to hear!"
