Ashley starts to laugh

Ashley:"You come in here to do wot Caley? Spit fire and brimstone at me? Gloat that you claim to have found a higher calling, and that I am laying in a 'ospital bed. I am aware of me past...and even you are smart enough to see I know full well where that past 'as landed me. As for Micah...well...believe it or not, 'e is a good kid. 'e would do more for any 'uman being then you ever would, thats fer sure. I 'ad doubts about 'im and 'e did wot was best fer everybody. Not for 'imself. Something I doubt you know anything of.

he stares at Caley with an intent smile

Ashley:"Caley, me dear, if you be wot 'eaven 'as to offer...I would rather go to 'ell."


Colin tries turning the knob, then puts his ear to the door
Colin:"Ohshit."

Caley smirks and looks at Ashley's chart and smiles...evilly...

Caley: Oh, I see...no stress huh? No overt emotions, or the resulting shot of high blood pressure might cause another heart attack and/or stroke. Oh no, Ashley...whatever shall we do?

She reaches into her purse...and reveals a heroin needle...still half full...

Caley: ...whatever shall we do?

[Pockets]

Moira: Oh bloody fokin' 'ell!

She runs to the nurses station.

Moira: We need a door unlocked roit now. You don't even 'ave to do it, jus' give mey the bloody key! It's a matter of loif an' death, trust mey.

Alex: Move.

Alex runs into the door ripping it off it's hinges, he keeps running and tackles Caley, still holding the door.

[Pockets]

Alexis runs in and to her father.

Alexis: Dad, are you alright?

Ashley stares at Alex, laying on top of Caley. His hands are wrapped around the wires going into his arm, ready to pull

Ashley:"Ah...well...uh...I was going to pull these cords out to set off the alarm but...uh...thank you. That would 'ave 'urt loik a bitch..."

he looks at Caley

Ashley:"Um Alex..be careful...she 'as a needle on 'er."

He looks at Alexis

Ashley:"When I'm well enough to get out o'ere...we are going on vacation. Me, you, and Colin. On a tropical Island. JUST US...if this is the way things are going to be with you lot around...I'm to old and beat up fer this shite..."

Alex: Thanks.... I know Ashley.... hence the door.

Ashley looks puzzled at Alex
Ashley:"You...knew? That she 'ad a needle o'smack? 'ow the...Bloody 'ell I'm tired."

[Cryonix]

Doctors and nurses come running into the room on a 'Code Green'. One nurse, in particular comes over and stands next to Ashley. Dr. Jordans comes in at the end of the commotion?

Dr. Jordans: What is going on here?

Ben: My young friend Alex here, defended this paitent against...whoever this crazy woman is. Here Alex...let me help you with her.

He stands Alex up and picks up Caley with one hand by the back of her neck. He whispers to her, "If you wish to live to plead your case....don't fuckin' move." The nurse staff starts to clear the room. The one nurse stays behind...

Nurse: Hello Mr. O'Ryan. My name is Naomi Summers. I guess I'll be your nurse this evening.

She gives him a warm smile...

Ashley smiles, leaning back in his bed
He looks at Alex

Ashley:"You..'ere...tomorrow."

he looks at everybody in the room with a warm smile

Ashley:"Now..I 'ave 'ad a long day. Everybody get the feck out o'me room."

he looks at the nurse

Ashley:"Any chance o'getting a tv in 'ere or something? Some books?"

[Pockets]

Moira peers in the door.

Moira: So much for gettin' the key....

Alexis looks behind her and smiles as she is getting shooed out.

Alexis: I think I'll take you up on that offer, dad.

[Cruel Britannia]

Alex nods towards Ashley, before walking out of the room. He puts his arm around Alexis' waist.

Alex: You OK?

[Pockets]

Alexis nods and smiles.

Alexis: Better now.

Suddenly, Moira is directly in their path, arms crossed.

Alexis: Uh... hi mom.

Moira just shakes her head, but then smiles and gives Alexis a hug.

Moira: If you ever need advice... or, 'ell, jus' want to talk, you know where to find mey. Congratulations, honey.

Alexis is taken aback.

Alexis: Um... wow... thanks mom.

[Cruel Britannia]

Alex looks towards Moira and nods.

Alex: Thankyou.

He shakes Ben's hand.

Alex: And thanks to you too.... always good to see you.... shame it always seems to involve some sort of underlying drama.

[Cryonix]

Ben shakes Alex's hand and hugs Alexis, telling her congratulations, as the cops from the Valain case arrest Caley...


Ben: It is what it is, Alex. Listen...when you get a chance. Come down to Tampa Bay. We'll do some golfing...and you and I, young sir, can discuss...plans for your wedding present.

[Cruel Britannia]

Alex laughs properly for the first time since the drama of the day began.

Alex: Our wedding present needs planning?

[Pockets]

Alexis stares at her hand in amazement, this being her first real chance to appreciate it's significance.

Alexis: We're getting... married?!

[Cruel Britannia]

Alex smiles at her warmly.

Alex: We most certainly are... If you still want to that is?

[Pockets]

Alexis hugs Alex so hard she almost jumps into his arms.

Alexis: Of course!

[Cruel Britannia]

Alex returns the hug just a tight, finally able to enjoy being engaged for the first time.

[Cryonix]

Ben: Why don't we celebrate, actually? How bout dinner? My treat. You guys must be hungry...

[Pockets]

Alexis: Well, there is this place right down the street....

[Cryonix]

Ben: Canlis? Yes, I'm one of the investors there.

[Cruel Britannia]

Alex: Um..... Ben.... Is there anything that you don't at least partially own?

[Cryonix]

Ben laughs...

Ben: Oh sure...but it's all apart of my thrity year plan to own the world.

He laughs again...

Ben: Let's just say I have a...diverse portfolio.
