Moira: Forget later, now's a good a time as any.

She corners Alex with the fiercest mama bear look ever.

Moira: Tell me one thing. You did not jus' propose to my daughter to spite 'er father, did you?

Given the events of the day, Alex is in no mood to tip toe around the issue.... he speaks not in anger.... but he speaks very plainly.

Alex: You're absolutely right.... it did affect the timing.

I want to marry Alexis.... I knew that before today happened.... but I had intented to wait.... until I thought she was ready.

But as I spoke to Ashley.... and he threatened to cut my balls off if I asked her without him giving me the green light.... trying to control her, make her decisions for her.... the same way he tried to make the decision about her becoming a wrestler..... the same way you try to control her.... all the way down to her taste in clothes and the WAY she wrestles..... I realised, with all due respect, that I didn't want to be like the two of you... it's not my place to decide if she's ready or not.... nor is it your place.... it's hers.... she is a grown ass woman, perfectly capable of making her own choices.... so I gave her a choice.... she chose to say yes.

If she said no.... it wouldn't change a damn thing.... that ring would still be waiting for her when SHE felt she was ready.

Hell if she wakes up tomorrow morning and decides that she rushed it.... and that she wants to wait.... then that ring will STILL be waiting for her when SHE decides she is ready.

But it will be HER choice

Moira: I know I ain't a perfect parent. No one is. 'Owever, I also know one of my biggest mistakes was gettin' married before I was ready... an' at the time I thought I was ready. I wasn't even ready for Alexis when she came.

She looks at Alex intently.

Moira: Jus' don't rush it, alroit.

Walking into the E.R. is Ben Cryos. He smirks at Moira and kisses her on the cheek. He walks up to Alex and shakes his hand...

Ben: I'm not family...so I don't know how much weight this will hold, but congrats on your engagement.

Alex smiles at Moira, almost cracking a laugh

Alex: I know.... but you wouldn't have to make it more difficult for me..... I doubt she'll be any happier about this than you are.

Alex: No.... it was someone else.... her name was Ashleigh.... she'd just got engaged too.... to some guy named Evan.... they were both having dinner with Ashleigh's parents Shaun and Gillian when they were mugged Evan and Shaun tried to fight them off but they both got shot.... the boyfriend got hit in the knee.... he'll be fine.... but it's not looking good for the dad..... I overheard her speaking to her sister Moirae..... so sad....

Ashley:"I would loik a word with Alex. Don't worry...in me condition I doubt it will get too heated. But I would like to talk to 'im in private."

Alexis: I missed you, dad.

She unlocks the door and slips out, closing it behind her.

Alexis: Alex, dad wants to talk to you...

She notices who is standing right next to him.

Alexis: Mom... Ben?

Moira is smirking.

Moira: C'mere, Alexis. Let mey see that ring of yours.

Caley sees the young woman slip out of the door...realizing that noone is inside anymore. As everyone talks, Caley slips into the hospital room. Once inside, she locks the door.

He tries to enter Ashley's room but the door's locked.

He says nothing to her, he does however reach for the button to alert the nurse. He presses the button frantically but looks at her calmly
