Alexis stares at the sign... then turns a glare on Alex, before tearing up and looking back out the window.

Alex sees her reaction, and pulls over the car immediately. He gets out, walks around to Lexi's passenger door, opens it and kneels down beside her.

Alex: Hey.... look at me..... I'm sorry love..... I thought you knew I was kidding..... I thought you knew that I'd never, ever do anything to put you in danger.

Alexis is turned away from him, wiping her cheek. She slowly turns back... with a wicked little smirk on her face.

Alexis: Heh... payback.

Alexis: Hey... are you alright? I knew you were kidding... I just figured since you were making it look bad.... I'm sorry....

Alex: No, no don't apologise..... you're just a very good actress..... you scared the life out of me.

..... If I'd really upset you.... made you cry...... that's one of the worst things I could imagine.... I'd have a very hard time forgiving myself.

They pull up to the house once again. Alex steps out of the car and rushes round to the passenger side to open Alexis' door.
