20 minutes later Nikki comes back out, back in her slept in clothes, but looking more awake, her hair still damp.

Nikki: I'm ready, sorry I took so long, but I gotta look good for you, being in your corner, right?

Gabe stands and looks at her up and down...

Gabe: Yeah...though the way you look, that won't be an issue at all...

The televison can be heard in the background, with UFC commentator Joe Rogan...

Rogan: And the big fight that everyone's been waiting for months for is the UFC Heavyweight Championship 5 round fight between defending champion Cain Velasquez and probably the most electic and charismatic fighter in the UFC's history, Gabriel Cortez. Now Velasquez is a worthy champion, having defended his belt in three successful defenses, but many are putting thier money on Cortez tonight. Nikki eyes Gabe but grins at the compliment. Hearing his name on the tv she turns and looks, then glances at him out of the corner of her eyes.

Nikki: Looks like you're some sort of big deal.

Gabe: Hmm...Well, I guess it's nice meeting a girl I can actually relate to....instead of 'fight groupies' that just want me to either sign thier bodies various places....or do other things with them. Hell, the last time I was in Japan, I got hit on by a 75 year old woman while she was holding her grandkids......ew...

He shudders....

Gabe: Never understood it myself. Which is ironic...concidering I have tats. Alex and I did a lot together as kids. There was a time we thought that we were the only ones in the world that understood each other. He's my best friend...and now apparently...I'm his best man. Smile

Gabe opens the doors and the bell hops are there. They put Nikki's bags on the cart and Gabe takes her hand as the two of them make their way downstairs...

We are now in Vegas and it's an hour and a half before fight time. The last few days have been very event filled. The weigh in was a success, garnering another 3 million pay per view buys. There was a unique confrontation between Tito Ortiz and Ewan Edwards that lead to the dissolving of Gabriel Cortez's Team Punishment Contract...and the creation of Cruel Brittania Combat Athletics...and the signing...of Gabriel Cortez there on the spot. But all that doesn't matter now. Now it's the fight. Gabe sits backstage in his warmup gear, surrounded by his whole family. Ewan, Jillian, Alex, Amanda, Alexis, Jayden and Nathalie. Nikki sits close to him holding his hand. He's just gotten off the phone with his mother who is able to watch the fight thanks to a special rig by Cameron. Gabriel stands and Alex stands with him and the two start to shadow box to get him completly warmed up...

Jillian: Wow...this is really exciting. Reminds me of how I felt before my title shots...
