Colin:"I tried having a conversation with her....You of all people should know how that goes. Me and her seem to get together like oil and water..."

Alexis: But, wait... how does trying to have conversation with Mandy lead to you going off on everyone?

Colin:"She told me about Alex...She seemed to revel in making me think that she was this cold hearted bitch who was marrying my best friend...It just...I don't know it triggered stuff and everything seemed to snowball."

[Pockets]

Alexis: I know she can come off as a little grating at times... but reveling in it doesn't sound like her....

A pause.

Alexis: She told you what about Alex?

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"I was honest with her. Told her how she sort of came across to me. My intention wasn't to be accusing though. But instead of telling me I was wrong, she agreed with me..."

[Pockets]

Alexis: You got mad at her... because she agreed with you?

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"It was one of a few things. And I didn't WANT her to agree with me. Not on that. You think thats the sort of person I want to see marrying my best friend? I wanted to see that other side that apparently so many people but me can see..."

[Pockets]

Alexis groans.

Alexis: It sounds like you came into the conversation already thinking of her as a cold hard bitch.... She tends to get sarcastic when she feels defensive. You two need a mediator or translator or something when you try to talk to each other....

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"Like I said, I was being honest...So was she apparently.."

[Pockets]

Alexis: Um... Colin... no, I don't think she was... I think she was sarcastically saying what she thought you wanted to hear, since it seems like you had your mind made up already....

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"I mean about other things....And what would possibly make anybody think that I want to go on thinking she's a bitch??"

[Pockets]

Alexis: What other things? And... ah... sarcasm generally means saying one thing while meaning the exact opposite... she's too good at it, might not have realized it wouldn't have sounded as sarcastic as she meant it to be....

Colin:"Sarcastic or not it didn't help....and things about her family..."

[Pockets]

A series of thunks can be heard on the other end of the phone.

Alexis: Didn't help what? How you thought of her? What things about her family?

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"The hell was that?
...And yes how I...You try being sarcastic like that and not seem bitchy Alexis."

Alexis: Nothing... nothing....

She sighs.

Alexis: Look... if someone is coming at you thinking you're an asshole no matter what... you know what, never mind. How did everyone else get involved?

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"Geeze Alexis ... This is why I'm so avoidant about things. Would you try listening please? I wasn't trying to "come at her". I didn't ask if she wanted to take a walk with the intention of attacking her!"

[Pockets]

Alexis: I am listening! I'm trying to understand what the hell happened.... I'm trying to be objective here. I know you didn't go to attack her, but somehow both of you thought the other person was attacking them.

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:....She told me everybody in her family still hates dad. She insisted on using the word hate, and yes, everybody."

[Pockets]

Alexis: I know. I know they do.

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"Wait..what?"

[Pockets]

Alexis: I know how the Edwards feel about dad, and I know that's not going to change, as much as we would both like it to.

[Jabberwocky]

Colin:"...You know Alex hates him too?"

[Pockets]

Alexis: Yes. I told him to stop faking it for my sake.

Colin sighs
Colin:"Wish I found out as gently as I'm sure you did from him...Hell, even dad said he knew."
