Charles: Who do you think I did all that for? The 17 hour days, the pushing myself through school, the working my way out of fuckin' Cleveland, Ohio...to owning a mansion in Boston? For a kid that had nothing....it was validation for me....and easy street for my family. That's why it mattered.

Charles: She was born into this.....a 9th generation Skull. The contract that existed with her family and the Hardcastles....goes back to pre Revolutionary War. I was working my whole life to get wealthy....to get us AWAY from them...

Charles: Victims of the contract. See....the S and B told me....when I married Margret....that if I could have a net worth of 300 million dollars....without any Skull influence, they would tear up the old contract between the families and let us free. The only problem is...my wife. She is a Skull by proxy. So I couldn't start any business with her, borrow money from her family...anything. I had to work my ass off. We tried to have children then....and after a lot of miscarriges...we finally had Cynthia....

...only to find out that one of the ways they calculate net worth...is family. We were caught from the beginning. So....raising Cynthia...we subtly encouraged her 'rebellion'. We were caught....she didn't have to be.....but...
