It's.... awkward of course.... but to be honest..... from what I've been told about Ashley O'Ryan, the monster who nearly killed my mother, my sister and me.... he certainly doesn't sound like the same man who's sitting in that bed right now.

She pauses, uncertain as how to say what she needs to, then it bursts out of her.

Alexis: This is the first time in my life you've acted like a dad. Colin was more like a dad then you.... He always has these stories of how he remembered how stuff was... how you and mom were... hell, how you were... and I'm jealous of him, that he has those memories....

She falters, her voice breaking.

Alexis: Maybe... maybe I'm more willing to let you have a second chance with me... because I want memories too....

Alex: No need to apologise.... my parents are actually pretty decent actors..... for example... my mum's the sweetest woman you'll ever meet in your life instead of the total bitch she plays on TV..... and my dad.... well .... actually.... no .... my dad's pretty much what you'd expect him to be... hence why it's quite unlikely he'll ever be able to forgive Ashley.

Naomi: I can understand not forgiving that. I wouldn't be able to forgive him that either...if it was me....but...he needs someone in his life. Someone that will stand beside him. I mean his children are one thing...but...

...well, I'm sure you can understand how compaionship is something totally different from family.
